Tyre kicking and muttering…

17 August 2017

Harvest started around the beginning of August, then stopped, started, stopped, started, to put it mildly the weather has been a bit mixed!!!!! I think the long dry spell in the spring may have had some effect, especially in two fields. Things started to look up when we started the oilseed rape. Two cracking days and we were finished. 66 hectares averaged 5.5 tons hectare. Let’s hope the weather improves soon or there could be a lot of tyre kicking and muttering by the time we are finished harvest! In general we have still been fairly busy, washing cattle courts, mending drains, and general maintenance on sheds and machinery.
