Theravet

Theravet is one of the UK’s leading independent veterinary physiotherapy and hydrotherapy centres, serving equine, canine and small animal clients since 2000. In 2025 they opened a second rural branch here at Bowhouse, bringing a wealth of veterinary rehab expertise to Fife and beyond. The centre focuses on the rehabilitation and well being of patients both pre and post surgery. They offer rehabilitation and support for elderly and infirm patients, for patients who have been referred following orthopaedic or spinal injury and they also excel in sporting and competition prep for both equine and canine athletes. The centre at Bowhouse has an underwater treadmill, 2 large physiotherapy suites, a wound clinic, electrotherapies and offers home or yard visits for patients unable to travel in. Later this year the centre plans to expand into rehab boarding. Their small onsite shop focuses on British, ethically produced dog products including joint supplements, correctly fitting harnesses, collars, enrichment toys and treats. The Bowhouse team have a real passion for what they do, delivering tailored and professional services with warmth and dedication. They love being in Fife and look forward to meeting future clients.
In 2018 Emma Craigie Halkett noticed a lack of support for the rehabilitation of retired British working dogs. She started the first UK charity of its kind at the time, to provide support to all British working dogs. The charity did not just assist police dogs, it included the military, border force, mountain rescue, air sea rescue, fire safety dogs, bomb disposal and more. It currently remains the only UK charity to specifically focus its support and funding on the physical rehabilitation of these brave dogs. The charity also holds a register of UK wide practitioners dedicated to the support of these dogs. Further details can be found at http://www.k9heroes.org.uk and Bowhouse is home to the Scottish flagship arm of the charity.
