Part-time Butchery Assistant (Flexible hours)-  Closing date Thursday 31st August 2023

Butchery at Bowhouse is seeking a dynamic individual who shares a passion for food and drink. Butchery at Bowhouse specialises in dry aged, organic, pasture fed livestock from Balcaskie Estate home to several food and drink businesses.

Located in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, surrounded by produce from land and sea, Bowhouse has an established reputation for producing high quality food and drink from local resources. As an Organic and Pasture for Life Certified butchery, our customers actively support our values. Supplying some of Scotland’s top restaurants, retailing both at Bowhouse and online to a growing market.

The day to day role will involve working alongside our small team,  developing a passion for what we do at Balcaskie estate. Learning about meat from Birth to Block, Regenerative farming systems, breeds, butchery techniques, and customer relationships. These skills and values are all key to our customers.

Butchery experience is not essential as training and qualifications will be provided. The most important attributes are energy, a willingness to learn and the ability to communicate with customers.

We are able to offer flexibility in working hours and only ask that applicants are able to work some weekends for our monthly Bowhouse market

What you need:

Energy
Practical aptitude
Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility
Communication skills
A driving licence would be an advantage to assist with the delivery of produce to chefs and customers.
